Members of Local 271 are experienced Construction Craft Laborers that rely on a diverse set of skills, performed on a wide variety of jobsites. Our members build roads, bridges, tunnels, transit and energy systems as well as work on demolition and renovation projects. Members also assist in the construction and maintenance of power plants and substations, dig trenches for lines, repair roads after line installation, and build supporting infrastructure such as oil and gas pipelines. We are skilled in general construction, concrete placement, roadway construction, site preparation, pipe laying, erosion control, hoisting and rigging, OSHA safety, permit-required confined space, rough terrain forklift operation, trenching and excavation safety, erecting turbines, and solar panel installation.

They include the DOT, DMV, EMA, Town Hall employees, School Department employees, Police dispatchers, 911 Operators, Zambarano State Hospital Employees and many others who keep our essential government departments working smoothly to service our ultimate employer, the taxpayer.

Local Union 1033 represents Public Employees in various state, school and municipal bargaining units around Rhode Island.

Our members plow our streets, maintain our roads and bridges, answer your calls to 911, assist our teachers and take care of our children’s safety on school buses and as they walk to school.

Local 1033 members are your neighbors and friends, school and municipal secretaries, paraprofessionals, teacher and library assistants, as well as police and fire dispatchers.

Local 1322 began with Public Service members from the Department of Public Works in Cranston, RI. in the 1980's. Today, the local has expanded to serve several communities, private water service and healthcare companies, including nursing homes and the VA Hospital.

Communities served include Exeter, Foster-Gloster, Burillville, Cranston and Westerly.  Our members serve the public good as water commission employees, school bus drivers, public works employees, CNA's, parking garage employees and tradesmen and women.

Local 1217 represents a large number of housing authority workers in Rhode Island, including one of the largest, the Providence Housing Authority. The members at these housing authorities consist of maintenance workers and clerical staff, we also represent, for the town of Smithfield, Department of Public Works, Town Hall clerical staff, Police civilian workers, and the Smithfield school and recreation maintenance staff.
